R&D leadership for AI-enabled energy storage, M-BRIC product development and renewable-power delivery at Alp Technologies.

Head of Innovation
Farabi led R&D in AI-enabled energy storage and guided engineering teams of up to 15 through product commercialisation. For M-BRIC, he built the delivery plan, coordinated work packages, batteries, racks, budgets and milestones, and kept engineering, operations and external partners aligned.
He also directed the project’s visual storytelling: securing locations, briefing the production team and translating the technical achievement into clear media and stakeholder materials. This joined product development, delivery leadership and communication in one focused programme.
Energy storage and MedTech
In 2021, Farabi led an Imperial College London Clinical Research and Innovation student sprint on energy storage and its implications for MedTech in African countries, delivered with Alp Technologies as the industry partner.
Over just under three weeks, the team carried out secondary research, data collection, systems analysis and user-experience work before presenting a high-level technical recommendation.
M-BRIC: from system to site
Farabi managed the eight-week delivery of a functioning M-BRIC renewable-power prototype for an agri-tech site in Lincolnshire. He coordinated the installation plan, stakeholder access, engineering resources and on-location production, helping the team complete the prototype and film within a two-day site window.
The work helped move M-BRIC from full-scale clean-energy prototype towards commercialisation while giving partners, accelerators and investors a vivid view of its potential.
Battery innovation at scale
M-BRIC combined modular battery energy storage with a wider renewable-power proposition. Farabi’s role connected R&D, delivery and commercial readiness, including work around AI-enabled energy storage and the development pathway for the battery system.
UK Research and Innovation’s Faraday Battery Challenge record also documents Alp Technologies’ cooling-enclosure programme for modular battery storage, developed with Queen’s University Belfast research into phase-change materials.

Renewable power in Lincolnshire
The location-led film follows the M-BRIC renewable-power prototype in Lincolnshire. Farabi managed the delivery plan and site coordination, then directed the visual story that brought the installation, engineering work and COP26 clean-energy message to a wider audience.
